Hunter

November 1963.

A time of great possibilities. A time of great change.

The world is balanced on a knife’s edge. Pulled from the brink of nuclear war it is now poised to usher in an era of peace between the two great superpowers of the day. But peace is the enemy of those who profit from division, and from the shadows they plot to keep humanity in conflict.

Enter Kade. Dropped into the middle of the greatest conspiracy of the age. A man with no memory of his past, and if he can’t figure out what happened to him our future could be changed forever.

Hey, whoever wrote this! (why does it not say anywhere who the author is?) I just read the first chapter and found it very intrigueing, though this is not a genre I normally (read: ever) read, but you caught my interest with your simple straight forward writing style and the atmosphere you managed to create. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

D’oh! I can’t believe I didn’t put my name to it. I will definitely address that in the next upload. Thanks for the kind words.

I have just closed the voting and will start work on the next chapter so hopefully it will out there soon, but this one is taking its time because I am really enjoying working with my daughters on TJ Thirteen at the moment.

So the author’s name doesn’t automatically appear? I hadn’t noticed, to be honest, but how do we turn it on?

      • #4 by gzidar on May 10, 2012 - 7:39 pm

It does if you use the blog post to post the story but I’ve been posting with PDFs of the story and I didn’t include it there. So there’s no need to do anything if you post the way you posted chapter 1 :-)

Can’t see name name on RB – Ch1. But then I am looking for my name in 6-foot high flashing neon! ;)

Hmm.. it looks like this theme doesn’t show it when you click on the post but its definitely there if you scroll to the post on the main feed. In which case (if you want it more prominent) I’d add it to the title or to the text itself.

Sounds like the start of a good story, Goran. Is that a pen name? Doesn’t sound like something a mother would name a kid. Would love to hear more. Found it on “Smashwords”, where it did have your bio. I’m not sure I’m patient enough for a snippet of story at a time though. On the fanfic sites I usually subscribe and wait until a story’s done, then read it, but will try to stay with you as you write. It’s nice to read some good (original) fiction from a fellow aussie.
    Regards
    Richard

Hi Richard. Yes it is my real name – my parents came to Australia from Slovenia back when it was still part of Yugoslavia hence the name :-) I’m trying to get a chapter out every couple of weeks I don’t want people to forget what happened and lose interest, but I also want to make sure that the writing is up to scratch. No sense rushing to get it out there and having all of my literary failings on display.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and I hope I can maintain your interest as we go along.

Very cool name man! I’ll hang in with the reading.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the story, I really hope it want take months ;-) Anyway, great way to develop a story, charming idea. It does keep one hooked so to say…. I surely will be tuning in from time to time to see how Kade’s adventures will develop……

Thanks for taking the time to comment, it was great to hear from you. I am glad you’re enjoying the story so far :-) I am hoping to get one chapter out every two weeks. So far I’ve done that but life can sometimes ruin the best laid plans. Fingers crossed things stay on track.

Hello, thanks for your reply. Yes I know life can ruin some carefully made plans, but that keeps the boredom away so to speak ;-). Great follow up these next chapters, I too keep my fingers crossed you are able to stay on track, but again, I will definitely keep coming back to check things out. Have a nice weekend, greetz from a Dutch lady.

HMMMM! 23 pages each book. Liked the story, but wont waste my time with rest of the series too short

I got them as free ebooks on Barnes & Noble. Read 9 of them back to back. Looking for the rest. Love them!!! It’s intriguing and keeps you guessing. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I am glad you are enjoying the story. I have been publishing them via Smashwords but because each chapter is not a complete story they are no longer sharing them with other online stores. So from now on I’d suggest visiting this site as every chapter will be available here :-)

Love the story. Can’t wait for more.

Thank you. Such feedback provides much in the way of encouragement and motivation.

This is so much fun. I like getting the ebooks from B&N, but then I found I could get the email version. Good reading

    • #20 by gzidar on February 23, 2013 - 6:53 am

Thanks Ann. I am glad you are enjoying the story. I had been posting each chapter on Smashwords but then they started to complain about that since the story wasn’t technically complete so now this site is where they will be published until the book is done.

I just finished reading the first 9 stories and now I can’t find 10-13, but I see chapter 14 here. Where can I find the ones I’m looking for? I’m hooked!

    • #22 by gzidar on March 1, 2013 - 1:36 pm

Hi Tracie. The link on this page is a PDF of the whole story which gets updated as each chapter is made available. So if you just click up there you’ll find chapters 10 – 14… I am glad you are enjoying the story. It has been fun to write as well. I have learned so much about New York in researching this book that I have started saving up to visit the locations I’ve been writing about :-)

Great story Goran! You’ve got me hooked and I can’t wait for more. Also, I’ve checked on kindle store and nook reads and I can’t find anything else you’ve written. Have you published any more ebooks or stories?

    • #24 by gzidar on April 14, 2013 - 7:04 pm

Hi Darnelle, thank you so much for the kind words. Hopefully I’ll keep you interested for the remaining chapters, the story is getting close to a conclusion I promise… I have written a few other things my personal blog is probably the best place to find that stuff, some is on Kindle and some is accessible via the blog. The link is http://gzidar.wordpress.com the published books are on the right and the other stuff can be found in the vignette’s page… some of it is better than others so hopefully it won’t put you off :-)
